In a 3 days / 2 nights tour the added day and night can be spent in the Colchagua valley, lodging in Santa Cruz. One more additional day (4 days / 3 nights) can include the Radal National Park (7 Tazas) and the associated activities, thus including the 3 geographical regions… the Andes to the sea.

Extended itineraries
Here is a suggestion of some longer itineraries and we can easily adapt these tours to your available time and interests.

7 days, 6 nights; Coastal Trek
Up the coast from our lodge are 50 kilometers of entirely pristine shoreline. Gaining access through private ranchland, we trek for 3 days and nights down the coast, camping on secluded beaches. Marches are not too demanding, leaving plenty of time and energy in the afternoons to shorefish with local fishermen, rock climb and rapel, explore the environment, spot wildlife, etc. Group members and guides are welcome to orient and share camping techniques and Leave no trace outdoor principals, offering an informative aspect.

Day 1
We start our tour with a morning pick up in Santiago at the international airport, hotel or your residence. Having left the bustle of the capitol behind we make a short drive to tour one of Chile's most historic vineyards. After a tour and lunch of traditional Chilean cuisine we continue through the countryside to visit a unique ostrich farm. After a short drive we arrive on the coast at a world-class surf break, where we'll lodge after some water-sport or shore fishing, and enjoy a beach barbeque.

We begin to get oriented as a group regarding our trekking plan and route; as well as techniques for navigation, camping, cooking, sanitation, pack distribution and outdoor ethics.

Day 2
Our first day's march brings us to the Topocalma ranch, also a surfer's paradise, here we're met by our support vehicle providing us with gear for water sports, and fixings for a hardy dinner. We'll camp near a Seal rookery. In the afternoon and evening we'll discuss aspects of the days to come, and distribute food and gear to be ready for an early start .

Day 3,4 & 5
In the coming days we navigate the coast, encountering uninhabited beaches, and stunning rock formations, woods, ravines.   We get early starts to leave time in the afternoon for activities including shore fishing, climbing and wildlife spotting, or just kicking back. In some areas it's possible to find arrowheads and fossils. Depending on the experience and interests of the group we'll hold further discussions on outdoor living and ethics. This virgin coast is sparsely populated by local fishermen and ranch hands, and we'll occasionally meet them along the way to a quire some fresh shellfish and employ them as fishing guides and cooks. One of the advantages of a coastal trek is the option of including seafood in the evening meals .

Day 6
Today we head to our southern base of operations. This is an opportunity to a quire any needed gear while passing through the capitol. It's also a chance for an interlude between days of physically demanding skiing. En route we'll tour a vineyard, and dine at the best restaurants. You can also do some shopping.

Day 7
We spend the morning and early afternoon doing one more activity of your choosing and a farewell lunch before heading back into the capitol.

8 days, 7 nights; Backcountry Skiing, Spring program
Years ago I discovered that the Andes a short distance south of Santiago have the same incredible terrain and twice the annual snowfall as the resorts near the capitol. So when the resorts close I spend the next month(s) touring and guiding in the area. I've developed a network among the local miners, horsemen, lodge and authorities. This has led to developing a backcountry skiing excursion that provides the necessary logistics, support and incredible skiing to offer a truly unforgettable experience. Having exclusive access to tour this vast section of the Andes means that guests are guaranteed first descents. This tour is not just for backcountry experts. This tour is a chance for advanced skiers with limited or no touring experience to learn from professionals.

The following itinerary is the optimal version of this incredible tour. The dates for this tour are pretty specific and I offer the tour for one group only, at the end of the ski season. The ideal starting dates for this tour are the second or third week of September, but snow conditions often allow for touring this area in October as well. The eight days can coincide to include 5 weekdays plus two weekends, making it easier to schedule.

The itinerary can include a couple days at the end for a quick detour through the wine country and coast which travelers coming this far shouldn't miss getting at least a taste of. The first days at Valle Nevado, can be eliminated to shorten the tour. The concept of the tour is to lodge and eat well after each day's strenuous activity. Extended treks can also be incorporated into the program.

Day 1
We start our tour with a morning pick up in Santiago at the international airport or your hotel. We head straight to the Andes, arriving before lunch at Valle Nevado, and can hit the slopes immediately. We'll spend the day mostly on the groomed to acclimatize, get oriented, check gear, etc.

Day 2
Though there is a chance of fresh snow in the spring, we'll spend the day timing a series of short hikes to coincide with different orientations, in order to ski some good spring corn or wind pack. We also assess possible hikes for the next day and discuss touring technique and gear. This is our opportunity to learn skills, or adapt or change to new gear .

Day 3
Today we make a full day alpine touring hike to the chutes and bowls behind the resort. Not only will the skiing be extraordinary, we're taking it to another level, seeing what we are capable of. Our orientation is complete, we've acclimatized and we're more physically ready for the days to come .

Day 4
Today we head to our southern base of operations. This is an opportunity to a quire any needed gear while passing through the capitol. It's also a chance for an interlude between days of physically demanding skiing. En route we'll tour a vineyard, and dine at the best restaurants. You can also do some shopping.

Day 5, 6 & 7
These next three days we spend earning our turns on some fantastic ridges, peaks, volcanoes, valleys, gullies and chutes. Early each morning we'll assess the weather and choose terrain after thorough risk assessment of routes, exposure, avalanche danger, hiking time, group disposition and snow conditions. We'll employ 4x4 vehicles, horses and skins to access and pioneer the best possible descents. It is truly a special feeling to ski where you are certain no other skier has been before .

Day 8
To top off an already great week, we'll raft our way out of the Andes with an established outfitter. After making the most of the morning this way, and a farewell Chilean barbeque, we'll head back to Santiago to meet your departing flight or leave you at your hotel in the capitol .
