I began teaching and was certified at Mammoth Mountain California in the early 80's. In Chile I've been teaching since 1985. I've worked at the 4 major resorts found close to Santiago, and for the last 7 years the world class Valle Nevado resort ( www.vallenevado.cl ) has been my winter home. My services are available through their ski school. I teach all levels: Beginner to expert, adults or kids. I truly enjoy enhancing my client's mountain experience. For me it's about fun, improvement and safety.

Back-country skiing
My true winter passion is skiing off-piste and the backcountry. We live in privileged times with the incredible equipment the industry has put at our disposal. Today's innovative skis now make it possible for even intermediate skiers to handle difficult terrain and snow conditions, allowing them to explore off the groomed slopes. I'll take you on mild excursions into deeper snow from the lifts, to serious Alpine touring in the shutes and bowls accessable from the resort.
I've been pioneering this backcountry for 20 years.

8 Days, 7 Nights; Spring Backcountry Skiing Tour
Excellent spring snow • First descents • Great weather
In the spring, when the ski resorts are closing, there is still more than enough snow… if you know where to find it.. I have a great itinerary to take advantage of this unique opportunity. By 4x4 vehicles and horseback we access the snow line to alpine tour some incredible terrain. Almost every run is a first descent!
This tour can be added onto the tail end of a visit to Valle Nevado, where newcomers to this side of the sport can learn the basics and get their hiking legs ready for this demanding yet incredibly satisfying activity. We wrap up the tour with a day of rafting and some wine tasting, and because Chile is so narrow, a detour to the coast can also be easily included in this one of its kind excursion.
